Kinsley is 1!

How is my baby one?  I don't like it one bit.  But she is the cutest little one year old there is!  We love this girl more than words can describe!  Here is her 1 year update:

-Movement.  This has exploded so much this last month.  She pulls herself up on furniture, on people, on walls, on the baby gate.  Pretty much anything.  She walks along furniture.  She uses her walker to walk around the house.  She's even figured out how to use a stool as a walker.  She can climb up the stairs.  And she can take 1-2 steps unassisted.  She is constantly on the move and she snuggles less and less because of this.

-Her favorite book is "Hello, Bugs!"  It's pretty much the only book she will sit through the whole thing without trying to change the pages too fast.  She also really likes books that have texture that she can touch.  We have a touch and feel animal book that she loves.  We don't really read that one though.  Just touch it.

-She's mostly a happy baby.  Even when she is over tired or hungry.
-She is starting to say more words.  She signs "all done" and says a version of it while she does it.  She says dada and mama and "ha" for hi and "ba" for bye.  She has started to immitate "uh-oh" which sounds a lot like her "all done".  She definitely babbles a lot and thinks she is talking.
-She is a SCREAMER!!!! She is loud.  Sometimes I can't tell which of my 3 kids is screaming.  This is not my favorite since I really can't stand screaming.  I realize Kinsley is just trying to be heard and practice using her vocal chords but I could do without it.
-She is wearing size 4 diapers and since 12 month clothes.  She is also wearing infant size 2 in shoes.  She will probably be out of those within a month but she has tiny feet.
-She was 17 lbs and 13 oz at her checkup today.  The doctor says she's holding strong at 5th percentile.  She is 27 3/4 inches (15th percentile) and her head is 17 1/2 inches.

-She had to get 4 shots and was pretty sad for a little while.  She has been doing this really sad cry lately.  It breaks my heart.
-I am going to start weaning her soon which is bittersweet of course.

Her current schedule:

6am: Wakes up
7am: Eat breakfast
8am: Nurses
9:30am-11:00am: Nap
12pm: Lunch
1:30pm:  Nurses
1:45pm-3pm: Nap
5:30pm: Dinner
7:00:  Get ready for bed
7:30pm:  Nurses and bed

We love our sweet and precious girl!  We are so glad you came into our lives!

Kinsley's 1st Year Video

For each of our kids, Connor has a made a 1st year video for their first birthday.  We love them and watch them often.  Here is Kinsley's!

Kinsley's Birthday and Party

Our beautiful, sweet baby girl turned ONE!  I LOVE this picture!

KInsley seemed so excited for her birthday.  She saw all the decorations and said "ooo" and "wow".

She got to open some of her presents!

We went to church and then after naps got to celebrate!

We watched her video!

Then she got to open more presents!

Horray for Birthdays!  We love our sweet little Kinsley!

Father's Day

Since Father's Day and Kinsley's 1st birthday/party were all on the same day, I'm going to do different posts. It was so nice of Connor to give up most of his day to celebrate Kinsley's birthday. He said that made it a better Father's Day to celebrate with his daughter.  What a good dad.

The kids and I brought Connor brekfast in bed (even though he was already up) and gave him his gifts.  Candy from the kids and BYU tie from me.  What's a Father's Day without a new tie?

Dad and daughter on their special day!  Besides this there wasn't a whole lot of celebration for Connor.

Happy Father's Day to my love and father of my children.

I have to also mention my dad!  He was missed very much and I can only imagine he would have loved sharing Father's Day with Kinsley too!  I'm sure he was there with us.  It has been a rough couple weeks and also aniticipating the year mark of losing him has made it that much harder.  I was determined not to be too sad and be able to enjoy Kinsley's first birthday!

I love you dad and miss you every day!

School Ends…Summer Begins!

Corbin had his last day of preschool today.  He will now be in full time school for a very long time.  A funny story about this:  Corbin has been really into knowing the plan and schedule for each day.  And sometimes he'll ask for even more information like for the week or month.  Well, a week ago he and I were talking about how he has only 3 more days left of pre-school.  He asked if he would then be in Kindergarten.  I told him, "Yes, after the summer you will be."  He then asked "After Kindergarten, then will I be all done with school?" I had to explain to him how many years of school he has left.  Poor kid.

Here was his last Daily Board outside his classroom!

Saying good-bye to his school!

As were leaving I asked Corbin if he was sad that it was his last day at preschool.  He said no.  But later that night, I was sitting on the couch and he came and put his arm around me and we had this conversation:

Corbin:  Mom, why did I have my last day at preschool?
Me:  Well, you are getting older and now you will be in Kindergarten.
C:  But I'm going to miss my school.  I like my school and my teachers and my friends.  I don't want to go to Kindergarten.  I want to stay at my normal school.
M:  I know.  I wish you could too!

Such a sweet boy!  I love him.

I have been wanting to start a tradition for the last day of school and do something to celebrate the start of summer.  Maybe someday I'll come up with more of an actual plan.  At the last minute, I got the kids new buckets and sand toys and took them for lunch at a park.

I hope we don't go too crazy being with each other non-stop this summer.  Hopefully, with swim lessons, a trip to see cousins, and the summer activities calendar I made it will be fun and smooth! (Ha, yeah right.)

Here's to a wonderful summer!

Cason Dances

With Corbin graduating preschool and Kinsley's birthday coming up, Cason is a little left out of the blog posts lately. But he's still a cute little man.  At our ward BBQ last weekend, he started dancing after I took him to the bathroom.  There was music playing you just can't hear it on the video.  He's a cute and sweet little man.  I love that boy!

Corbin Graduates Preschool

Corbin had his preschool graduation today.  They called it a "Bubble Ceremony".  (You'll see why in a minute!)

They started off with a performance.  It was over 8 minutes long and as cute as I think the whole thing is, I cut it down to a minute and a half.

After the performance was the Bubble Ceremony, presentation of their certificates and a photo op with his teachers.

I can't say enough good things about his teachers.  They were wonderful and amazing.  I know Corbin will miss them dearly.  Miss Darlene, Miss Julie and Miss SK!  We love you!

His teachers made each child a scrapbook with artwork and pictures that is so amazing!

We love this school!

Baseball 2013

Corbin's baseball season has officially come to an end.  He had his closing ceremonies today and got his trophy!  That was one of the most exciting things for him.

He had a great season and while he wasn't always thrilled about having to get his uniform on and going, he seemed to have fun once he was there.  Corbin won't be a major leaguer, but I hope he has learned more about being a good teammate and if anything, he has definitely learned the rules to baseball better.  That will definitely come in handy being in this family!

From the start of the season to the end of the season, he got a million times better hitting a ball off the tee.  With the actual pitching, he got one hit all season.  Luckily, I got it on video!

We loved having Corbin play and he had one of his friends, Spencer, play on his team.  Connor loved being an assistant coach and have his friend Gordon (Spencer's dad) coach too.  And I loved being a team mom with Chrissy (Spencer's mom).

Go Tigers!!!

I was playing Peek-A-Boo with Kinsley the other day when I realized she was trying to say it too.  It's not exact and it's more imitating the inflections but it is still SUPER cute!

Father's Day Breakfast

Corbin participated in his school's annual Father's Day Breakfast.  I didn't actually attend, I just got the pictures and video after.

When I texted Connor about it, he said that they sat and had breakfast together and that Corbin was so happy to have his dad there.  Of course, Connor was happy too!

Here's the video of the songs the did.  A side note about one of the songs:  A couple weeks a bedtime, Corbin alluded to the fact that they were going to sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the Father's Day Breakfast.  Well, in class they learned the real words "Let's root, root, root for the HOME TEAM".  Well, obviously, in our house we say "root, root, root for the GIANTS".  So when Corbin sang "the home team" Connor told him that was wrong and to say Giants.  Corbin made sure to tell us he told everyone they were wrong and that he said "Giants".  If you close enough, you can see he did during the actual performance too.  Funny boy!

Here are the gifts Corbin made!

Happy (early) Father's Day to Connor!

7 Years

7 years ago today, Connor and I were sealed and married for eternity.  We thought we were best friends then, but after 7 years we are finding out that we are even MORE best friends now.   We are closer and happier than we have ever been.  And I know one of the biggest qualities our marriage has is trust and loyalty.  There is a song I really like now called "Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey that reminds me of Connor.  Here are some of the lyrics.

Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?  Will you still love me when I got nothing but my aching soul?  I know you will, I know you will, I know that you will.

Dear lord, when I get to heaven please let me bring my man.  When he come tell me that you'll let him in.  Father tell me if you can.  All that grace, all that body, all that face makes me wanna party.  He's my sun, he makes me shine like diamonds.

And will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?  Will you still love me when I got nothing but my aching soul?  I know you will, I know you will, I know that you will.

Since our anniversary fell on a Sunday, I really wanted to do something that was a little different than our normal day but still keep the Sabbath day holy.  I suggested taking the kids on a picnic for dinner.  Connor thought it was a great idea. We both really wanted to go to the beach but we were worried it would be crowded since it was such a nice day.  The first one we got to was crowded so we just drove until we came across one that was EMPTY.  It was meant to be.

It was a little bit of a hike but we walked right by a strawberry farm.  It was so neat to see all this yummy fruit growing right next to the ocean.

I had the boys turn the other direction and took a picture!  Ocean!!!

Happy Anniversary to us!
